Mikinzie Taylor knew from a young age that she wanted to work outside. At first, her dream took her to Colorado State University where she received her bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Biology. However, Mikinzie turned her eyes toward farming soon after graduating and never looked back. After interning at Cure Organic Farm in Boulder, CO in 2016, Mikinzie and her husband moved to Steamboat Springs where their dreams of owning their own farm became a reality in 2017. Mystic Hills Farmstead is slowly and thoughtfully growing and with the hope of one day become a staple in the local food community in Steamboat Springs, CO. Mikinzie is thrilled to grow healthy, delicious food not only for her family but for her community as well. At the farm, you will usually find Mikinzie tending to the garden, harvesting vegetables, or attempting to keep up with her 2 children. Her husband, Jack, can be found managing the farm’s poultry and planning the farm’s livestock expansion.

Jack Taylor grew up an avid hunter and outdoorsman and knew from a young age he was going to pursue becoming a Colorado Game Warden. After graduating from CSU in Fort Collins with a degree in wildlife biology, he achieved his life-long dream and was hired as a Game Warden in 2016. After five years of service, a growing family, and ever-expanding farm business, Jack turned his other dream into a reality and decided it was time to focus on the farm full-time. With a passion for conservation, sustainability, and regenerative farming practices, Jack runs the farm’s livestock operation with thoughtful implementation and action. You can find Jack working out in the pasture throughout the day, moving sheep and poultry and ensuring the pigs are managed holistically on the pasture. His hard work shows, not only in the quality of the meat, but in the quality of our pasture and we are truly grateful for his vision and work ethic.
